5th-8th August 2010 - St. Margarets Festival Ballet Present Sleeping Beauty

Tchaikovsky's The Sleeping Beauty is this year's Village Ballet. A treat not to be missed by everyone in East Kent.

The St Margarets Festival Ballet achieves the seemingly impossible task of creating the atmosphere of The Royal Opera House in the St Margarets Village Hall. Full scale scenery, fully staged and beautifully costumed, featuring international dancers supported by talented local performers, Sleeping Beauty is the third annual ballet to be staged in St Margarets.

The packed audiences for previous productions, "Coppelia" and "The Nutcracker", were thrilled to see ballet at such close hand you can actually hear the shoes squeak! And the full orchestral score floods the hall and flows out into the fields beyond. Testament to the great success and amazing quality of the productions is the continued support of Wayne Sleep OBE as the Patron of the Company.

There are just six performances of The Sleeping Beauty and seats are obviously limited. Tickets are on sale now, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

For tickets either call the Box Office on 07854 308503, go to the Village Shop or the Village Post Office, or post this form to the address below.

26th June 2010 - DAPA students perform at Eamonn Holmes' celebrity wedding.
Girls rub shoulders with the stars, and even get their photos in Hello magazine.

Local newsagents were scratching their heads last week when copies of 'Hello' magazine flew off the shelves faster than the latest Harry Potter on publication day.

The reason was explained by photos of eleven young dancers from DAPA being featured in the up market glossy. The girls had performed at Eamonn Holmes' celebrity wedding among TV personalities and 'Britain's Got Talent' star Susan Boyle who also sang, at the millionaire location in Hampshire.

DAPA Principal Sarah Dean said "We were thrilled to be invited to dance at the wedding. It was a wonderful experience for the girls, and a glimpse of the glamour life their talent and hard work has opened up for them."
"Seven professional dancers also performed at the wedding and Thomas Inge (pupil of DAPA) danced with them!"
"It was an amazing experience to be a part of a professional team at such a prestigious event!"
