Louie Spence to visit Canterbury to open new Dance Studios.

Louie Spence - the star of TV's Pineapple Dance Studios is coming to Canterbury to open new Dance Studios and kick off a Free Festival of Dance in the City. TV's most outrageous dancer is cutting the ribbon at the new Prince of Wales Dance Studio on Saturday 8th May at 12 noon. And once the applause dies down, Louie is donning his jazz pants to take a dance class with local children.

Louie is part of the Free Festival of Dance that is happening in Canterbury during the weekend 8th and 9th May. Dance Classes ranging from Street, Hip Hop, Ballet, Irish and Jazz, for all ages and all abilities, are being given by qualified teachers from DAPA. In addition cast members from four West End shows will be in the City giving workshops based on the smash hit musicals "Billy Elliot", "Mary Poppins", "Hairspray" and "Cats".

And on Saturday evening an open air screening of Dance Craze movie "Step Up 2: The Streets" (PG13) is being shown as the centre-piece of a massive street Bar-B-Que. All the activities are at the Prince of Wales new Dance Studio in Military Road Canterbury - and everything is free!!

The full programme is available at www.dapa.co.uk. Co-ordinating the Festival is Sarah Dean, the principle of DAPA, who can be contacted on 07963 029441.
